Lucky Mr. Peters
Chapter 29
After breakfast, the whole herd moved down to the game room. It left me and Allejandro to get some more work done on my Spanish lessons. He still smiled at my pronunciation of some Spanish words, but at least he wasn’t outright laughing any more.
Without realizing it, time sped by until Pietro announced that lunch was ready. As we got out of the study, it became clear that Mauricio had been down to warn the other boys. Our small army traipsed into the dining room to be fed.
When lunch was over, I reminded Rafael that Hugo had to be home in time. I offered to bring him with the car, but Rafael decided to drive him himself. When he walked in almost an hour later, he looked a bit sad.
With all the other boys down in the game room, he sat down next to me on the couch.
“I wish Hugo could live here too, that way, we could really be together all the time,” he whispered.
“I’m pretty sure he’d miss his parents, they’ve both been very supportive,” I replied.
“Yes, his mother gave me a real big hug when I brought him home,” Rafael smiled.
We kept on talking and slowly Rafael seemed to cheer up. When Allejandro walked in and started accusing him of moving in on his boyfriend, he almost doubled up with laughter. Smiling from ear to ear, he told Allejandro he needn’t worry, even though he did prefer foreigners.
With time for dinner drawing near, the other boys slowly joined us in the living room. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw Carlos hovering over young Damarion like a mother hen. I concluded that we definitely needed to have a talk before bedtime that evening.
When I asked Carlos to join me in the study after dinner, he got an apprehensive look on his face. The moment I mentioned Damarion, he became acutely defensive.
“Please let him sleep with me tonight, I promise I won’t do anything he doesn’t want,” he pleaded.
“Would you care to elaborate on that?” I asked.
“Well, I did take care of a little problem he had this morning, but only because he asked me to. And his little ‘pee-pee’, as he calls it, is really cute,” Carlos forfeited.
His statement almost blew me away and I had a hard time not picturing Carlos giving little Damarion a blowjob. Driving home the point that we had to be careful, Carlos relented. Where Damarion wanted to sleep would be his own choice.
After the evening’s film had ended, Fernando and Roque quickly disappeared, followed almost immediately by the twins. Dreading the answer, I popped the big question to Damarion about his sleeping arrangements.
As more or less expected, he opted to sleep with Carlos and the two of them made off for the stairs almost at once. That left just me, Allejandro and Rafael, getting comfortable in the living room.
“Would it be ok for me to have a glass of wine too? I don’t feel like going to bed just yet,” Rafael asked.
I just nodded and Allejandro got up to get our drinks.
As soon as Allejandro had left the room, Rafael bent over to me.
“Could I maybe sleep with you guys tonight? I don’t want to be alone,” he whispered.
“You’d better ask that question to Allejandro, he’s the boss in our bedroom,” I replied.
Rafael immediately jumped up and made his way to find Allejandro in the kitchen.
Minutes later, they walked back into the living room and both boys were smiling. Sitting down on either side of me, we slowly started sipping our wine. Rafael was the first one to finish and he started looking at us expectantly. When I finally fell asleep that night, I was extremely tired, but also satisfied.
Getting together at the breakfast table, I realized I had no idea where Damarion went to school. As neither he or Roque were able to give me any useable clues, I gave in to giving him the day off.
After the boys had left, Damarion wanted me to take him down to the game room. We played a few of the games, but I definitely wasn’t very good at them.
Suddenly, Damarion stood up, pulled down his trousers and briefs, and showed me his hard little ‘pee-pee’.
“Can you also do Carlos magic?” he asked, smiling at me innocently.
I don’t know what came over me, but I engulfed his little worm with my mouth almost instantly. With my tongue working his small glans, Damarion started giggling incessantly. Without conscious thought, my hands started roaming his little butt and soon one of my fingers was glancing over his pucker.
I barely managed to stop myself from intruding any further, but I did. Damarion had started bucking his little hips though and soon I could feel his little cocklet quivering in my mouth.
As his small legs gave way, he slumped down into my lap. His face had a smile plastered on it and his eyes fluttered open after I had kissed his forehead.
I spent the next half hour or so trying to convince him he shouldn’t tell anyone about what had just happened. The language barrier that stood between us wasn’t exactly helpful either. I think I got through to him though, as he extended his index finger over his lips, giving the universal sign of silence.
Carrying him up the stairs, he started to giggle again as I threatened to throw him into the pool. His raising voice alarmed Pietro and Mauricio, who came to see what the ruckus was about. Between the three of us, we soon had Damarion on the couch, tickling him like mad men.
I should have seen it coming, but I couldn’t help smiling when the accident happened; Damarion peed in his pants. Pietro was quick to pick him up and telling us he’d take care of things, as he carried the still giggling little boy away.
“Is he going to stay here also?” Mauricio enquired once the other pair was out of earshot.
“At least for the time being, he will. If things don’t work out, we’ve got other options though.”
“Pietro and I have talked about it, but we’re both still too young to have kids,” he admitted.
“Don’t sell yourselves short, I’m sure the two of you would make excellent parents, someday,” I said, giving Mauricio a slight hug.
“Are you sure we’re not supposed to call you ‘papi’,” Mauricio asked, and I could see tears forming in the corners of his eyes.
“Get back to work, you lazy scoundrel. I’m not paying you to say things like that,” I joked, earning me a quick kiss on the cheek.
A couple of minutes later, Pietro and a cleaned-up Damarion came walking back in. Handing the little tyke over to me, Pietro quickly disappeared into the kitchen.
Damarion swiftly occupied my lap, as I started switching through tv channels, trying to find something appropriate to watch. Having found a cartoon channel, the two of us settled in and enjoyed the entertainment.
We were still watching when Rafael and Fernando came walking in. They had already changed, so they sat down next to us. Damarion was quick to ask if they could go down to the game room. It took a bit of doing, but I managed to convince him to wait until after we had lunch.
As soon as lunch was over, Damarion took the other boys by their hands and began pulling them to the stairs down. I decided to go into the study. Keeping in mind the growing number of boys, I went online and ordered another PS4 and a large screen tv I could hook it up to. A second console would allow more of them to play at the same time.
I then decided to give Julia a call to inquire about Damarion’s school. After explaining the situation to her, I could hear here starting to laugh.
“I seriously doubt neither of them knows where Damarion is going to school. The institution in question has a reputation for being strictly Catholic and reportedly still uses corporal punishments,” she revealed.
“I really don’t like the sound of that,” I replied.
“Well, my suggestion would be to try and enroll him at Carlos’ school. Primary schools usually don’t have any problems accepting new students during the schoolyear,” she proposed.
“I’ll give them a call straight away.”
Julia told me she’d send me the information on Damarion’s current school via e-mail. The new school would probably be needing that.
The call to Carlos’ school went very well. They suggested I’d bring Damarion over the next morning, so he wouldn’t miss too many classes. I went down to the game room to bring the young boy up to speed.
Before I had time to fully explain things, Damarion grew pale and started jabbering away in Spanish.
“He doesn’t want to go back to his school. He says they punish him a lot,” Rafael translated.
“Tell him he’s not going back there. He’ll be at the same school Carlos goes too,” I clarified.
After getting the news from Rafael, I suddenly found myself with my arms full of boy. It took a little while for him to calm down, but then he settled back down in between the two older boys. On my way out, I mentioned ordering a second PS4. I could still hear them cheering as I walked back into the living room.
Not long after, the twins and Roque arrived home. They were about to go down to the game room, when I told Roque I wanted to have a word with him. All three of them looked a bit puzzled, but then Roque followed me into the study.
When I announced Damarion would be going back to school the next day, Roque started to furiously object.
“He hates going to that school, he says they spank him almost every day,” he exclaimed.
“I know, that’s why he’ll be going to Carlos’ school instead,” I said, at which Roque fell silent.
“Now, when I asked you about his school this morning, you really should have mentioned this to me,” I continued.
With his eyes downcast, Roque just nodded.
“Are you going to punish me now?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“No, I’m sure you were just looking out for your little brother. But if anything like this comes up again, I want you to be honest with me. I’ll always be willing to listen as long as you’re telling the truth,” I concluded.
Looking relieved, Roque got up and surprised me by giving me his first real hug and kiss. With a light swat on his bum, I told him to go and join the others. I could hear him softly giggling as he made off.
Not long after, Carlos came stomping into the living room, looking quite upset. After setting himself down on the couch next to me, I asked him what was wrong.
“I think Pedro is mad at me,” he blurted out.
“And who would you think that?” I asked.
“I kinda told him about Damarion. He said I shouldn’t do things like that because he’s only seven, but he’s so cute. Afterwards, he didn’t want to talk to me anymore. After school, he just rode off on his bike, not even saying goodbye to me,” he elaborated.
“Well, he may have a point with Damarion being only seven,” I began.
“Don’t you start too! He wants me to play with him, he says I make him feel good,” Carlos immediately retorted.
“Be that as it may, you’re still the older of you two and as such, you have a certain responsibility. I know you’re still very young, but you have to keep that in mind,” I softly told him.
I proceeded to recount what had happened earlier that morning. It caused a slight smile on Carlos’ face.
“Now, imagine him asking anyone else about doing Carlos’ magic?” I asked.
Carlos started to seriously blush, “He wouldn’t do that, would he?”
“I think you’ll need to have a serious talk with him. After all, starting tomorrow, he’ll be going to your school,” I divulged.
“Really? Maybe when Pedro sees him, he won’t be as mad anymore,” Carlos smiled.
“Just make sure you don’t pull any weird stunts. You know that could get us all into very serious trouble,” I warned.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care and I won’t let anything happen to him. Will you get him his own bicycle so the two of us could ride to school together?”
I was slightly caught off guard by that question, suddenly remembering how I had felt when Carlos rode to school the first time. The route to and from school was safe enough, but I still had my doubts.
“We don’t even know if he can ride a bicycle,” I mentioned, in an effort to postpone the inevitable.
In a flash, Carlos had gotten up and disappeared down the stairs. I knew full well what was coming, when he and Damarion reappeared, less than a minute later. They were involved in a soft, private conversation as they slowly made their way to the couch.
They had only just sat down on either side of me, when Allejandro walked in.
“Why are those two bunching up on you?” he inquired, after giving me my usual kiss.
“Damarion will be going to my school. He needs a bicycle, so we can go on our own,” Carlos was quick to divulge.
Allejandro gave me a puzzled look as I just shrugged my shoulders.
“I take it you can ride a bicycle then?” I asked Damarion, with Carlos translating.
The little boy readily nodded his head, but otherwise kept quiet.
“Well, I will have to bring you tomorrow, because there will be some paperwork for me. But I guess we could go looking for a bike after I pick you up,” I relented.
Carlos immediately volunteered to ride with us in the car the next day. He’d make sure Damarion wouldn’t wander off after school was out.
With that settled, two fairly happy boys wandered off to the game room again. It enabled me to recount the day’s events to Allejandro, conveniently leaving out the early morning episode.
“I remember one of my neighborhood friends going to that school when I was young. He must have been around 10 when he walked away from home. I don’t recall ever seeing him again after that,” Allejandro pensively told me.
I had to smile about his remark at being young.
“I thought corporal punishments in school was against the law, nowadays,” I lamented.
“It’s a Catholic school, they make their own laws,” Allejandro dryly stated.
Saying he’d better find out what the other miscreants were up to, he followed in Carlos and Damarion’s footsteps.
After dinner, the older boys started doing their homework. Again, impressing on Carlos that he should behave, I let the two youngest go down to the game room. It allowed me to check my e-mail and print off the information that Julia had sent me. She had even made sure getting me the proper documents, proving I was indeed the temporary custodian of little Damarion. I folded up the papers and put them in the pocket of my jacket, so I wouldn’t forget them the next morning.
One after the other, the boys came down, having finished their schoolwork. The twins and Roque were the last ones and told me they wanted to see a movie. Once settled in our home cinema, the other boys rapidly joined us. I could see Carlos puffing up, when Damarion chose to actually sit on his lap. He gave me a quick glance, just long enough to flash me his all too familiar smile.
The movie was a fairly long one. When it finally finished, it was bedtime for the boys. Getting my goodnight kisses, I noticed Damarion could barely keep his eyes open. I was satisfied both he and Carlos would likely be out in no time. After finishing our usual glass of wine, Allejandro and I both made for bed too.
Tuesday morning, I drove both Carlos and Damarion to school. Sitting in the back seat, the two of them seemed thick as thieves. At the school, getting the little one enrolled was easy. I was allowed to sit in for a few minutes, as he was introduced to his new teacher and classmates. Walking back with the principal to her office, I noticed her smiling.
When I asked her about it, she said Carlos had probably coached Damarion. When I looked puzzled, she told me Damarion had asked his new teacher about the cookies she sometimes brought to school.
“Carlos has been in her class too, he must have told him about it,” she concluded.
Telling her Carlos could be overly protective, she assured me the staff would keep an eye on things. Before leaving, I asked her to immediately inform me if Carlos stepped out of bounds. With her affirmation she would, I left the school and made my way back home.
I made some nice progress on my Spanish lessons, and before realizing it, the twins, Roque and Allejandro had arrived back home. Roque asked about his little brother and I convinced him things went fine that morning.
After lunch, the twins and Roque went down to the game room, Allejandro staying with me. It was only a few minutes later, when I heard stomping on the stairs and then the twins came marching towards us on the couch.
“Oh, oh,” Allejandro whispered, creating some distance between himself and me.
The twins sat down on either side of me, both looking thoroughly upset. At the same time, Allejandro got up, saying he’d check on Roque.
“He says he’s thinking about going to the ‘International School’, too,” Felipe started.
“We don’t want him to, he belongs at our school,” Juanito finished.
“Fernando must have set him up to this,” Felipe added, for good measure.
I knew instantly I had to tread carefully and this wasn’t going to be easy.
“You guys know that I don’t interfere with your choice of school. If Roque wants to go to the ‘International School’, there’s not much I can do about it,” I ventured, trying to sound as calm as I could be.
I noticed the two boys looking at each other, some kind of silent communication going on between them.
“If Roque’s going there, we are going too,” Juanito then proclaimed.
“Yeah, he’s not going to get rid of us that easily,” Felipe supplemented.
As I breathed a silent breath of relief, I noticed Roque and Allejandro standing in the doorway.
Sounding sad, Roque started talking to the twins in Spanish. By the time he was almost finished, the twins had gotten up and were walking towards him. I could feel a lump in my throat when I saw the three boys starting to hug each other.
Smiling, Allejandro walked over and sat down next to me.
“He said he never wanted to get rid of them. He just thought it would be cool if all of us went to the same school,” Allejandro softly translated.
“So, what’s it going to be, guys,” I asked, loud enough to gain the threesome’s attention.
Almost like finishing each other’s thoughts, the three boys managed to build a coherent sentence.
“We know we’ll need to be tested … but we’d like to try … if Allejandro and the others don’t mind.”
“I can’t speak for Rafael and Fernando, but it’s ok with me,” Allejandro almost dryly declared.
The three boys just started to smile and then simply disappeared towards the game room.
Then the doorbell rang and Allejandro was quite fast to answer it. By the time I got to the front door, he was walking towards me with a box in his hands. Right behind him were two men, carrying a substantially bigger box. Realizing it had to be the new PS4 and television, I stepped aside to let them in.
After putting down the big box in the hall, one of the men presented me with a delivery sheet. I signed it, pulled out a € 50,- note and handed both back to him. Smiling broadly and saying thanks, both men then swiftly disappeared again.
“Don’t I get a tip for carrying this in?” Allejandro asked, showing off the box in his hands.
“You’ll give you your tip in bed, later this evening,” I replied, earning me a big grin.
Allejandro then said he’d round up Pietro and Mauricio to carry the television down to the game room, which I thought was a good idea. A good half hour later, the second gaming system was fully up and running. I really hadn’t paid attention when I ordered the television and it turned out to be almost twice as big as the one the first PS4 had been hooked up to. The boys seemed to love it though, which was all that really counted.
When it was time for me to go and pick up Carlos and Damarion, Allejandro volunteered to come with me.
“I’ll be able to eavesdrop if they start speaking in Spanish,” Allejandro smiled as we drove out through the car gate.
We were soon at the school, and I couldn’t help but notice Carlos firmly holding on to Damarion’s hand. Once safely in the back seat, Carlos was quick to fire off against Damarion in Spanish. In the rearview mirror, I could see the youngest was getting a thorough tongue lashing.
I heard my name drop, once or twice, but also noted Allejandro was just smiling.
I noted Damarion seemed relieved to get out of the car when we stopped near the bicycle shop. At entering, I noticed the old shop owner was absent. Instead we were greeted by a man who, judging the resemblance, was probably the owner’s son or much younger brother. He looked intently at me and Carlos for a couple of moments, then started to smile.
“My father has told me about you,” he said, firmly shaking my hand.
“And about you,” he continued, addressing Carlos, “I’m sure you’re riding around without those extra wheels now, aren’t you?”
Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Carlos just nodded his head.
Explaining what we were there for, the man hunkered down, so he could be at eye level with Damarion.
“Let me guess, you’re looking for a real ‘big boy’ bike, aren’t you?” the guy asked.
With Allejandro quickly translating, Damarion started to giggle and nod his head.
Switching to Spanish, the man took Damarion’s hand and led him to an appropriate selection of bicycles. It took some time, but then, with considerable help from Carlos, Damarion made his choice. As had been the custom, he was allowed to try out the two-wheeler on the sidewalk in front of the shop.
After Damarion got fitted with a cycling helmet and me paying the bill, we got back into the car and made our way home.
From the ruckus emanating from the game room, it was immediately apparent that Rafael and Fernando were also in the house. Damarion hurriedly made his way down, closely followed by Carlos. Taking the opportunity, I asked Allejandro what the two young boys had been on about earlier on in the car. Much to my surprise, he started to laugh.
